I just made my major skills abilities that I never use and can be easily leveled (conjuration, etc) and minor skills the ones that were actually the class I wanted to play (heavy armor, blade, etc) and manually controlled my level that way.

You guys still playing Morrowind might wanna look into the Morrowind Sound and Graphics overhaul.
http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php...unds-graphics/ It will rape your machine but makes the game look crazy. I don't turn up the clip plane as high as in the screenshots cause it becomes very apparent how small the game world actually is with it way up. Comes with a great GUI to customize options. http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/8179/48718356.png http://pnmedia.gamespy.com/planeteld...19_fullres.jpg

Let's be real. The only thing about oblivion that didn't suck when compared to morrowind was the graphics and spell casting system, and I had fun with the morag tong. The citys blew, almost as much as morrowinds expansions.
I always used a mod that changed the leveling system, the only way I could stand playing. And the fucking monotonous gates in oblivion!! God damn them. (and the useless team mates you got in the final battle before the gate opened, wow, I took my time to murder them too). As for skyrim? PRE FUCKING ORDERED.

From the looks of it they incorporated a spell system that doesn't involve you going gimp and putting away the weapon.

The thing that made Oblivion suck more than anything else was the items scaling with level. Morrowind gave me incentive to wander into random caves/crypts/etc because there was always a chance to find some badass stuff in there. Whereas with Oblivion, I purposely avoided finding good items cuz I didn't wanna gimp em by picking them up at level 10.

Yeah there had to be mass editing in the TES to fix that item scaling effect.

I've read enough that I think there will be enough improvements to at least warrant the game a try. It might be decent, might not, but I had fun playing the last two games so eh, gonna give it a go.

Oblivion had some play value in the gray fox/assassin quest lines, but skyrim needs to re-elevate the bar
