Just a little FYI... I'm pretty sure the only droppable versions of Ice Comet drop off of naggy/vox. The droppable version can no longer be created using research.

Correct.

In later expansions, the runes of the astral and frost drop off 50+ mobs IIRC, but for now, the above poster is correct.

I think I recall a thread on Ice Comet saying the dropped rune of frost will not combine and that only the components from the Staff of Wheel quest will make it (until this changes in Kunark era?)
