Shadows were waaaay later than Luclin.

Personally I think they make the game look worse; light sources have no effect on them and they don't care about the position of the sun. Lame.

No offense, but I think some of you don't understand the concept of a client program vs. a server. It is the client (your EQ executable) generating the shadows, so I'm willing to bet there is no way for the devs to disable shadows.
