Default Ranger Weapons

Been saving up my plat, looking for a couple good weapons to get my 34 Ranger. I have about 10K to spend.
Been thinking twin Lamentations, twin Wurmslayers, or one of each.

What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

Woodsman's Staff, and keep half of your savings.

Was just looking at that. Very nice! Give me a good head start on getting an FBSS to go with it.

i'm saving for a woodsman's at the moment also. Since low thirties i've been dual wielding a jade mace in primary and a crystalline ss in off hand. both are cheap and good. mace is 9/18 and chrys is 12/24...so .5 ratio each. want your fastest in primary o'course.

jade mace sells for 3k
crystalline ss is around 3.5-3.8 atm.

on wurmmy's...owns in off hand, main hand its too slow to be a better choice and the faster weaps like jade mace IMO. only issue with the wurmmy is that it is pending a nerf that will make it primary hand only. historically, that is when its value went from 6k to 600. might not be the best investment

woodsman's has some advantages. first off, when tanking hard hitting mobs, a 2 hander is best because you reduce the riposte damage you take. second, and this is hearsay that i can hardly wait to try out myself,...but the lvl 49 call of flames spell is fast enough to cast between woodsman's strikes. so it should go something like "wack wack burn wack wack burn" ...for constant 100+ strikes. you would have to have mana regen and the ability to sit and med between pulls to keep that up, but it sounds like fun,...and is why i'm trying to buy one right now. damn can hardly find one for sale in EC in the past three weeks though.

Woodsman's is the best DPS until probably epics and VP weapons. It might even out-damage epics if you have 40% haste from somewhere else, but if you only had say 27% from RBG then epic off-hand and epic/VP main-hand would be better.

Lupine dagger is a great weapon, fast and procs greater wolf form at 45 which is quite a substantial ATK buff also a great way to keep your piercing capped. Usually what I would do is use dagger just for the proc then switch to woodsmans for max crushing damage.
