Default Will RED pp value change now?

From my understanding value has been 1pp red = 3pp blue.

I am assuming this was set by the RMT in Nihi which dominated the pixels on red server.

In reality, a less populated server where camps are less contested should mean items are easier to obtain for the few people that actually play on the server. Also fewer people to actually sell items to (less demand) would usually mean lower prices.

why is red pp worth more than blue?

will the values change now that the pixels aren't all being hoarded by RMT guild?

thoughts?

Red pp has more value because we have to buy utility items like pumice causing pp to leave the market at a higher rate.

Much smaller economy.

Dynamics of server aren't to farm and make pp. We have an end game entertainment value of pvp.

Blue economy has been around a lot longer.

People are more likely to go blue to red than vice versa. Causing red pvp to hold more value

Red has a more stable, healthy economy than blue.

Rexx touched on a big part of why this is in his post - utility items that need to be purchased like pumices are small, but viable, platinum sinks.

Less people farming less platinum means higher value per PP. There's simply less pp in the economy than there is on blue, which is why most items are cheaper here (~50k fungi vs ~80kfungi on blue). The exception, of course, is resist gear and certain valuable PvP clickies, which will cost more due to higher demand (there are some items on blue that are next to worthless that will sell for 1k+ here)

Item prices fluctuate far less on Red than they do on Blue for a number of reasons. Blue experiences far more bans for RMT, and we've made a few policy changes here and there to try and curb inflation. The value of Blue platinum has been going s

PP being worth more is good for the little guy just starting out. NPC's still drop the same amount of pp, gems, and vendor items, which are the only ways to get platinum circulating into the economy. But because the platinum is worth more, lowbies get more bang for their buck.

tl;dr red has a smaller, more stable economy, which is better for new players who can buy more stuff

Ok that all makes sense...

the reason i ask is because although i have started playing on red, i have not REALLY invested in red (blue to red plat transfers) based on the fact things seem so expensive.. even though that fungi only cost 50K on red.. with a 3-4:1 ratio that fungi would cost me 150-200K of blue plat!

starting over and being a poor noob has been somewhat refreshing, but can be pretty painful too(especially on a PVP server wit all dem twinks!) =D

anyways, thanks for the information.

I will say Red has been a lot of fun so far..

I also talked my buddy into starting a new toon with me..

a very nice druid (think his name is tombom? need to check my friends list to confirm) ported my friend to the same area as me and gave him a CSS, Green Jade Broadsword, and a few other items. My friend was on the fence but due to the kindness this fellow showed has gotten very excited about the server.

A random person also gave my shaman a jade chokidai prod.

people have been pretty cool and helpful.

People are more willing to give away smaller items because it's easier than trying to sell them sometimes.

Cost of items is also very much dependent on what zone they come from.

On blue, zones like CoM, KC, and especially Chardok are farmed liked
nobody's business, so those items are much cheaper there. Sarnak
Battle Shield, for example, is around 4-5k on blue and is like 20K on red.
Contrary to this, I've found items like JBoot MQs and GEBs to be
cheaper on red, than blue.

On red, these zones are under guild control somewhat, so random
player X can't spend time farming there.
