Lightbulb Increasing Red's Population

I know this has been suggested before, and has already happened somewhat on Red, but with some people complaining about wanting a wipe and with a steady sub-180 server population, i think this is a much better option.... or at least it's a start.
I suggest that Every weekend (or every other weekend) the staff increases EXP received (in all ways) by DOUBLE!!
That means, with near 100% certainty, MANY more current players will be logging in on the weekends (and more often) AND it is certain that many NEW players from Blue or elsewhere (via word of mouth/staff announcement) will be making their first characters on the weekend when the exp is amazing and while the noobie population is sure to be thriving.

Thus, you create a situation where old/newcomers alike will keep playing brand new (or old) chars because every player will have the weekend boost to look forward to. That means more people solo grinding and more people looking/finding/making groups; more noobs; more population; and more fun for everyone.
I know Red's exp rate was raised already, but we saw the boost that little change gave Red. Even people like me (and many others I know) came back from not playing EQ anymore, just because of the exp raise, and ended up being here to stay.

Think about it..... yes? no?(Voter's names are not public, so feel free to vote honestly)
Also, please explain why you think it's a good idea or bad
Call me crazy, but it just might work.

OR ,, Here is an update for all you care-nots who don't like reading any of the ideas/posts/opinions that take more than 5 seconds to read
HIGHER exp rate and/or tiny increase in drop rate on weekends= Profit!!

Or will this thread end up in the loony bin?

You want bluebies to play here, I'll tell you how you get them; increased drop rate weekends. Bluebies are retarded for pixels.

What x(times) is it compared to original as of now? It's not that fast
Even so, this is just for the weekend, or even every other weekend to boost the population, which i think it undoubtedly will.

The proof is in the pudding, meaning look at how many people came back to play when the exp was permanently raised. Also, haven't they had exp weekends before (Even week long events) where the rate was higher than it is now anyways?

If it doesn't work it can always be stopped. I personally don't see any down side to it.

That's actually not a bad idea either, I'd thumbs up that one.
and nevermind bluebies, all types of players would come here for either of these ideas.

Naw, the only people left to come to the server are bluebies.

Brobb's idea has my vote. Maybe a cap on how many 57-60 toons you can have per guild.

If Red gets a decent chunk of additional people leveling up, the more guilds we'll get, and the more everyone wins!! Hell, might even get an entire guild to come here if something is done to make red more enticing to the average joe.
