Default Cost effective mage pet items

I am lvl25 on my mag now and it is kind of an awkward spot. I can't use the stun whips yet. I can only use the baby lifetap weapon off a tentical terror or whatever.

Okay, so I have to wait a bit on weapons. But what ITEMs are a good idea to give to a mag pet? You can't get these items back, so nothing too expensive. There has to be some logical way of boosting hp's or ac to the point that my pet will be as OP as I want him to be.

Boosting a pet's hp or ac through items would be cost prohibitive for what you're talking about. Beg/tip passing shm, clr and enc for pet buffs.

Beg/tip a high level mage for some http://wiki.project1999.com/Summoned:_Muzzle_of_Mardu. Make a duel corpse at the end of your play session to keep the muzzles left over.

and/or

Look for a cheap http://wiki.project1999.com/Sarnak_Battlehammer or http://wiki.project1999.com/Argent_Defender to maximize the dps of your pet when doing long play sessions. ~50p for one of those items shouldn't be too hard to recoup if fighting in sola or a low lvl cash camp, especially when these items make your lvl 24 pet do 2x-3x the dps it normally would. Try your best to keep the pet alive, or group with a healer in this scenario.

I dont think any armor type gear benefits your pet only weapons. But honestly just stick with your summoned weapons.

From what I read, AC items, like bronze armor ect...adds AC to your pet, but I've done that before with my pet (full bronze) and saw no mitigation difference. Nothing at least noticeable in the slightest way.

Ya i think armor is just wasted on pets. Only the mage summon haste mask i think has any effect

Using a sarnak battle hammer or Argent defender will give my pet much more dps than a torch in the offhand right? I think that is what you are telling me, I just want to make sure before I pull the trigger.
