Default Anyone know anyone that actually worked on EQ 1999-2001?

Given how much we all love this game, I think it's kind of strange that not many people discuss or think about what went into creating it and rather just look at it as some world that just appeared and exists. I'd love to hear commentary from the design team as far as what kind of discussions they had when designing classes, PC/NPC models, mechanics, zones, quests, items, intentions and inspirations.

Anyone know anyone that could do an AMA sort of thing?

Big Brad did an interview with the GM's a bit ago, should be on youtube/twitch still. Even gave him a green character IIRC. I think it was more of a Pantheon promo than a do you remember kinda thing.

uh oh...you said the P-Word...

and yes, Brad is still out there. at this point in his career he will actually respond to your emails and questions if you really want to hear them. as much as I have liked him through the years...i've met him irl several times and gotten to chat with him, mostly at bars at fanfaires, i don't know how much longer he can be trusted even by his fanbois.

i'll plunk down $60 to try pantheon when it is released (in 2020?), but i don't have great expectations from him anymore like I did once upon a time.

Salim Grant (aka Silius) rolled a Mage on P99 earlier this year. Not sure if he was part of the team back in 1999, but had lots of stories to share of his tenure while designing EQ in some later expansions. Dunno if he is still playing.

I knew a guy that played a Paladin named Chasty.
He was a GM on other servers.
I found a website that credits him working with them from 1999 to 2003, from Classic to Legacy of Ykesha.
His name also appears in the production credits for Planes of Power as one of the Training Specialists.
