Default Pets should be able to hold aggro with PCs in melee range

Besides pet aggro not being high enough in general at the moment, pets should be able to hold aggro with other PCs in melee range if they are at the top of the hate list.

This was nerfed on live towards the end of Velious after Legacy of Steel used charmed giant tanks on the AOW. Previously pets could hold aggro

I would say post relevant links, but pretty sure devs don't care to make pet tanking possible regardless of its classicness

This definately was not the case with the first AoW kill.

It was an unintended bug that was promptly fixed on July 10, 2001:

Legacy of Steel shows the kill somewhere around July 27, 2001.

Melee trying to do damage or anyone on the hate list in range were slaughtered. Giants were the DPS, not the PCs.

Prevelious pets stole aggro and held it.

But, long story short, they're not going to make it so pets are classic. We've barked up that tree in the past.

The other problems with pets are low priority for them because they said pets were powerful enough as is.

If you think your pet aggro is fine, you have no idea how pet aggro is supposed to work.

Even ignoring that classic feature, pet aggro here was broken a LONG time ago. I don't remember seeing any patches to fix it since then.

Again, it was said that it is low on their priority because pets are powerful enough as is.

This. I often used mage pets as tanks in small groups with my rogue.
