Default HP Buffs

I seem to remember back in the day, when an HP Buff was cast on someone, it would increase their max HP only, and not heal the amount it was 'buffing' for. As it currently stands, most if not all of the buffs in the game have two seperate effect id's.. one for increasing the max hitpoints, and one for healing that same amount of hitpoints. I thought I remembered the latter not existing for some time until they were added. When were they added? This is going to affect the PvP server because it is the difference between a buff effecting the dynamic range or not due to the heal.

should be getting buffs from your bros anyways, and if your pling getting zerged by a bunch of lowbies would be fun.

The difference is a level.. say.. 30.. casting a buff on a 50 as he happens to pass by.. that 30 can now be wtfpwned.

If you buff someone, you ally with someone.

IMO

I don't know about at release as I did not play til Oct '99 but I recall inner fire healing pretty early on, and I seem to recall people used cleric hp/ac buff clickies in kunark to self heal.

I distinctly remember using my deepwater helm in Kunark for heals. (Before kunark, I am not sure because I was a massive noob in classic)

I thought that some spells healed and some didnt, like the cleric line of non reagent spells would heal you, im not sure if i remember symbols healing. I cant be sure if druids did either. Im allmost 100 % sure that the int based caster type shielding line did not ever heal.

I've always remembered raw HP buffs as increasing their max HP only. My strongest memory being in Velious.

HP buffs acted as a heal as well. Remember the level 1 shaman buff? It was used over the heal because it was more efficient than the heal.
