Default Fearing in water (necro)

Hey guys, as I rarely play mine, I had a question for those of you who are better necros than myself.

When I'm soloing a mob near water and cast fear, occasionally the mob will path straight into the water. I thought if the mob is in water, you simply need to go into the water to cast fear, however this doesn't seem to be working.

Once the mob paths into the water I can't cast fear from above water or below it. It just always says "You cannot see your target". Is there a way to deal with this?

You need to have line of sight on the mob.

Not sure what is causing your problem specifically, but I did several levels fear kiting bloodgills in LOIO. In this setting the whole fight is underwater rather than starting over water then going under water.

When my feared mob runs into the water, I don't have LoS whether I'm above or under water.

Spirocs in TD? I noticed it happening to me as well there on my necro. Ended up backing the pet off to get the mob out of the water.
