Energy surged from my body irradiating the air. My control of manna has reached such a level that it surprises even me. Months of study in the great libraries of Erudin on Odus, the Academy of Arcane Science, and Mechana-Magica on Faydwer has brought me to this. No single book or ancient scroll pushed me to this new plateau however, it was the teachings of life in Norrath and my countless battles that unlocked the potential I never knew I had.

She smiled, confirming for me that my thoughts were as an open book for the Mother.

There was an Ogre in gleaming gold plated mail. He turned to face me and I began to feel a sensation of shrinking, of falling toward the ground yet my feet remained in place. It was a strange day.

Traversing the Rathean Mountains always brings one to a state of exhaustion. The thin air does not help. I found myself in a small vale between ridges when it appeared, emerging from behind a massive boulder. I froze in place unsure of whether to flee or draw blade. It closer the distance between us with unnatural speed and I felt a drowsy sensation as it gazed into my eyes...
