and ya america sucks at patient care no doubt, at least by the higher standards the best system of the world should be held to.
the real best answer for our healthcare is to remain incredibly capitalistic but also sacrifice just-enough to improve our patient care. for example pre existing conditions shouldn't be a thing, and we could save that money by not spending $16 million extending 98 year old cancer grandma's life to 99. medicaid expansion was good and more states should enjoy the same kinds the west coast has. states should be able to subsidize patient care effectively, and buy policy from out of state. not to get all death panels but voluntary euthanasia for the extremely elderly terminally ill etc would improve patient care for everyone else and we could still continue to operate in a way which is capable of funding the level of medical research the modern world demands. i mean there's other ways, but the main big money bleeds i see in healthcare are extremely elderly dead-anyways people, morbidly obese, and malpractice cases. fixing healthcare really also has to go along with a social shift toward improving public health. namely let's unfuck the food supply while we're at it. it really shouldn't be on the medical industry to fix the health effects of being a 4,000 mt dew calorie a day failed fat redditblob when a bit of good ol' fashioned fat shaming could do this country wonders. hurr i'm ranting. | ||
