Default Hello new to EQ!

Hey everyone seen EQ talked about alot, and was recommended Project 1999 to try. I love the outdated graphics, I'm a sucker for older graphics in video games. There's just a charm to it and music. I logged in for a bit before I had to go but Im wondering where do I start! Its a new whole new game/world for me to explore. Any tips/suggestions/advice?

Not sure what I want to main.

Try out different classes. You won't know what you like until you play it

Yes, all of the classes are very different and it will depend on your play style. This is a very group centric game, and each class has a roll to play.

One thing to note about playing different classes is that they don't really come into their own until the teens for the most part, especially hybrids, unlike casters that come into their own early. I think it's easier to decide whether you want to cast or melee and what races you like the look of and then go from there. Don't worry too much about min/max if you're a casual player, gear makes up for it at later levels but you cannot undo the sight of ogre bum for 100's of hours!

Kill all the decaying skeles. They'll provide coin, cloth armor, bags and a cracked staff until you find better.

Edit: save bone chips and high quality bear skins for player sales

^^^ What he said.

Also, if you are brand new to the game: http://wiki.project1999.com/ will be your best friend.

One things to note, most starting areas will have bone chips quests which can help push you through those first levels. The best (I think) is the Kaladim one, which is where a Dwarf would start.

If you ever see me around on my mage feel free to message me, happy to help with some damage shields or pet powerleveling!

Welcome to EQ and P99!
