Default Best Melee Solo Class?

Hello guys,

I want to start a melee class (including hybrids, but not bard), but I also want a class able to solo.

Right now I'm thinking about SK (fear kite).

What do you guys think?

Paladin obv~

Sk's are too mainstream

Either one though can solo pretty decently till 40, where grouping then becomes much more efficient.

SK's can solo better in most cases early on, especially if you go Troll or Iksar, as the regen will really lower your downtime soloing (though the exp will be much slower from the race penalty)

Paladins solo pretty well at lower levels, especially if you stick with undead early on. healing between strikes/undead nuke works really well especially if you have a ghoulbane handy.

Druids are good for kiting ability. Snare, root and nuke. Necros and Mages are obvious choices as well as they have pets.

Had some success using a deep water helm to heal self while keeping spectres rooted 40-49 and undead nuking to break root then meleeing again. It isn't the fastest way to go, but it works well enough I guess. I'm guessing this could work with undead in burning woods a little further. But after that you should be able to find group work tanking.

Deepwater is (should be) dirt cheap.

Awesome reading comprehension.

Monks can also solo decently, with mend and a higher bandaging cap.

if u want to solo 1-60 sk is ur best bet for the higher lvls, only other class that can solo high lvls effectively is pally. monks can solo until about 50 efficiently with mend and bandages

monk are by far the best solo melee class and THIS is why i think so.
1) They tank well
2) They dps well
3) they can FD, which means ofc less death but also more exp because they can gamble more on if they need to lose agro or not.
4) they can mend and i think you can still zone to refresh mend
5) they can bandiad up to 75%
7) can interupt spells
8) become a highly needed part of raids and groups and high end
9) are badass
10) if you can afford a tranquill staff the DD/stun proc make it own
11) don't have the exp pen that say an SK or pal would

I've seen a few SKs fearkiting Seafuries... I would think they'd be the only melee class that could handle that. And xp penalty does suck but honestly the number of times FD has saved me as a necro--> worth it

Well I already got a lvl 30 magician, and I started a monk to play with my GF (but I'm not supposed to play when she's not there, so we can lvl together), so I was looking for something different. As a mage I feel like I don't play a vital role in a group (although I understand the importance of DPS), and I wanted to try a melee, but I fear playing a warrior because I feel like they rely too much on a group (but I bet they can be pretty fun).

All right let me change my question then: If I already played a magician and a monk, what fun class that is pretty different from them could I try?
