Wizard Epic Revamp & Staff of Gabstik

On my wizard I have a Staff of Gabstik, received from turning in the Mistletoe Powder from Tola pre-revamp to Kandin Firepot. I did not ever get a Cazic Skin (no surprise), so I do not have the bag or note.

Do I still need to do the broken golem part in Fear? If I am understanding the wiki page correctly, I will still need to re-do that part to get the note (and another Staff of Gabstik) so that I can spawn Arantir for the final turn in.

Or is there a different way to spawn Arantir? Can I just redo the Ro's Breath part, or is that not the "correct" version of Arantir for the final turn-in?

Does Arantir despawn post-turnin? If not you could probably just piggyback another Wizard's quest. Otherwise yeah, looks like you would have to kill the golem for a second staff.

Yes, you will have to kill the broken golem to get the note or piggyback off another wizard. The version on Arantir that you spawn with the Ro's breath will not work, it's not the correct version of the mob.

You might be able to purchase a cazic skin off an old player, that's what I did post launch

much much easier to piggy back off another wiz doing their epic, especially if you are on blue. cazic skins are probably impossible to find. and take longer not to mention, then waiting around or asking for a wizard doing epic.

Ok so, I'm in the exact same situation than OP. Another wizard in guild is missing his Staff of Gabstik and will have to get broken golem killed to get note + gabstik staff.

Would it be possible for both of us to turn our 3 staves to Arandir which would be spawned by the note or would Arandir despawn after being handed the 3 staves?

Don't really know if PoF revamp changed Kandin Firepot and Arandir's mechanismes or just Kandin Firepot one

In other words: Since revamp, does Arandir still stay up for a fixed duration of time once spawned by note or does he despawns after giving bag now?

You can still do unlimited turn-ins to the final Arantir that spawns (until he despawns in a few minutes anyway).

One advantage to doing the broken golem is the opportunity to keep your Staff of Gabstik. Just corpse your current one before you give the oil to the gnome in BBM and you'll get a second one to give to Arantir. Loot up your first one after you get your epic for an amazing 25MR item. If you don't corpse it, the second one will "poof" since it's lore and be wasted. If you do any raiding, you will want another staff.
