Default Netbooks

Just wanted to let you all know (in case you were wondering) that EQ runs great on netbooks! Sure the screen size makes for some creative UI adjustments. However once you fiddle and get everything positioned correctly, you then have an ultra portable EQ fix to take with you.

I used a netbook as my main platform for a year or so when I was abroad and It ran p1999 fine. I just didn't want to play after about 20 minutes due to eyestrain

Is there any video lag? Do you have spell particles, clip plane, and all of the advanced graphics options on? What are the specs of your netbook?

I agree. I usually do my EC tunnel buying/selling on my netbook while working on my desktop PC (VNC-ing into work won't allow me to connect to EQ Emu servers). It's also useful to do those 6 minute, 1 spawn camps scattered around the continents.

On long road trips I've also tethered my blackberry to my netbook and played that way. Never once suffered a dropped connection, which I can't say about my cable internet at home.

Edit: I use this model and I don't need to turn off/tune down any video options. The screen size is the real limiting factor.

When the GF and I play, She is on the house HP and I sit at the kitchen table. I have a 17 inch Viewsonic that I plug into the netbook. Works awesome. At first i had issues with resolutions but once i located and loaded up the driver for that specific monitor I got 1440x900 EQ goodness...still running from the netbook.

I'm pretty sure that most modern computers can run a 10 year old game just fine [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] .

IT runs fine a a Dell XT2 tablet pc too. It's basically a tablet built on top of a netbook. the touchscreen even works for your buttons.
