Quest Issue: Rathe Mountains - Cynthia - Rod of Insidious Glamour Quest

I was working on Rod of Insidious Glamour Quest on 6/1/2017 at roughly 5am hour eastern. I already had a golden rod, so I went and got the "a shining stone" from the shadowmen and proceeded to cynthia in rathe mountains. I mistakenly turned in the golden rod and 50gp - which produced the "A Glamorous Stone" which you would normally get if you turn in the "a shining stone" and 50gp. Not noticing my issue I proceeded on with the quest until I got to the main turn in within Sol Ro and then realized my mistake.

After looking around on Zam, i am unable to find any mention of incident giving the proper reward, when it should either reject them or eat them totally but leaning to the former.

EQ live returns items npcs dont need but not here

that npc must have been set up for MQ so it handles each item individually even if you hand in multiple items at once

the npc accepts what it needs for the quest n waits forever for it to reciece the final item

items that do not complete the quest just sit in the inventory of the npc
