Tracking party buffs / shaman
Hey,
So I have really been enjoying playing my alt shaman, very fun class! What I'm wondering is how you professional shamans out there keep track of party buffs? Any tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It's a pita, no doubt. Either set timers or buff yourself with spells that have the same duration. I haste myself, yeah its a waste of a little mana but at least I'm ensuring the DPS keeps flowing.

Most people use log trackers with overlays.
GINA or GTT are the two im aware of. Basically while you have logs running with these programs in the background, whenever it picks up the log of: {Soandso} feels faster. You can have the program overlay a timer for 7 minutes that will tick down and in the timer you can label it whatever you want. Something like: {Soandso's Haste} And then when it ends you can have an overlay that sets to display: {Cast Haste on Soandso} Across your screen. I suggest googling for GamTextTriggers or Gina, there will be better explanations and images showing how it all works. Later on EQ these programs became pretty damn necessary. During Kunark/Velious it's just useful for boxing (which you can't do here) and keeping track of lots of buffs.

Great! Thanks for the tips. I will give the log trackers a shot.

I use Free Countdown Timer (Cnet). Allows multiple timers set at whatever you want with whatever sounds you want and overlays over game when you play in windowed mode.
****From Product description, "You can set the time in hours, minutes, seconds and an alarm will ring the counter reaches zero; or you can set date and time and an alarm will ring the counter reaches this time. Free Countdown Timer supports unlimited number of timers so that you are not restricted to the number of alarms you can have" P.S. - Another trick is to time things to buffs, If you have clicky buffs can always refresh buff when a certain timer needs to start and count back from max duration. Cheap and easy way to time things without needing to mess with 3rd party programs.

Buff yourself, then buff them is the easy, modless, clockless way to keep track buffs
The extremely old, skilled shaman I know use Clocks/Timers and just pay attention. If they're not using a mod, they're experienced enough that keeping track of timers is second nature to them.
