Otherwise, you either sock, or you play alts while other people are forced to sock, little difference from a non FE/TMO perspective.

In my opinion, no. If you want to be a raiding guild and want the kill that badly, you'll commit to killing it, whatever the server dictates that'll take.

That's just my opinion though.
