The great thing about Kickstarter is that if you disagree with a project there is no obligation to donate, or even think twice about it!

Almost 10% funded on day 1, off to a good start.

Actually, all of our cats (3) have eaten the treats and totally liked them! Perhaps this is a marketing point I should expand on.. . . ..

That's not a plan I can get behind "I know I can do better" - if you seriously want investors you should really try to distinguish yourself.

Also, there are a number of local companies I found without even trying..

I'm not familiar with Tullivers, but I am with the other two. One is a national company, I am supporting locality.

One thing that I would like to aim for, and perhaps should emphasize more on in my Kickstarter, is a partnership opportunity with all of the small businesses in Albuquerque. There are few things this sometimes-crappy city can pride itself on, but pet ownership and small businesses are two of them. This would be a nice way to bridge the two, and I think it would really work. All of our small business districts are walkable and most of the stores and even restaurants are dog friendly.

My undergrad (and the two graduate degrees I am working on now) are all focused on Community Planning and Community Engagement, so that's where my interests lay. This is another way for me to involve myself in it!

Truly baffling. $800 does not qualify as a true barrier to entry, it's just a money grab.

You should be willing to give up equity for funding. Kickstarter is a stain on our society where people give up nothing for something. If you have a profit-seeking venture for kickstarter you're being exploitative, period.
