Default Aurora Borealis Visible farther south than usual tonight

I'm reading they're actually visible as far south as Maryland if you live in a place with low light pollution. I'm stuck on the outskirts of NYC so there isn't a way for me to see them since I'm at work. I would totally be driving somewhere upstate to see them tonight though, if only I wasn't stuck here.
