They stopped dropping at one point, so only a limited number exist. Time has also passed, so more and more people have money to spend, so, higher demand, lower supply, better economy = higher price.

Hey, they sell for what they sell for. Im not buying it, just selling it. If someone doesnt like the price, they can always simply not buy it, or buy another one.

It's largely in part due to a couple of folks buying and reselling them over and over. You can still get them very easily for a lot less, which was my main point in tricking smarty pants up there into admitting. But when the 24 hours end and the high bidder is one of their friends making a fake inflation bid, well.
