My opinion is that both sides should have shown better judgment. Less than lethal force should always be the first option within reason. In this case its my opinion that it should have been used first.
However, when the cops already have their guns drawn (whether you feel they should have or not is moot, they had their guns drawn), yelling "shoot me! Shoot me!" and advancing toward them, be it running or walking, or crawling on your hands and knees, is probably the best way to get shot.

Honestly, to me, it seemed like he only took the energy drinks in order to get the police to show up so he could provoke them to shoot him. I'm not inside his head, and I wasn't there, but from the video and the accompanying article, that's the first conclusion I came to. Not saying I'm right, just that it makes the most sense to me based on the evidence presented in that video/article.
