Solo Artist Challenge

One of the reasons I started playing my bard again after a year hiatus was to do some of these challenges. I was 54 now halfway through 59, Ive done a couple of the warm ups just by being there for xp but I really want 60 before doing any of this seriously and it's partly because of some tricks that are available to bards only at 60 because of DA song and 1 minute slow song.

Likely not all that well. The issue is that you lack root, though woolly spider nets can take care of that you'll likely burn through an entire pack really quickly.

I have an epic mage, and while the pet can solo pretty well (spend a bit of time in chardok and sebilis), the combo shines with a cleric -- or to a lesser extent a shaman. Imo, it's the most potent combo right after sham/monk. If a mob can't be slowed then it's the most potent combo period.

For solo mages aren't that great. For duo they are pretty damn awesome

Skope is right. Duo or group they are OP. I know in groups if 2 mobs come the Mage can take out the second one as fast or faster than the rest of the group on the other. Pretty scary. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] But no real CC solo.

I haven't parsed the damage, but when the pet is tanking it's roughly in the area of a raid-geared rogue. I've seen the pet drop a mob on its own faster than the rest of the group has killed theirs =P If you're not lazy and malosini the mobs the DPS is even better due to the pet's relatively low level. Those stuns and nukes add up.

You can get creative with the weapons, like giving Fluffy a whip of ensnaring or ykesha weps to help with soloing indoors, but it's a pain to keep those stocked.

I am playing a mage (Kazmeir if you are hanging around KC!). I was extremely frustrated with the lack of root so I gave him Sakuragi's root nets. It makes a big difference.

I am pretty sure an epic mage with a full bag of root nets could solo a lot of the stuff on this list (you can split most camps by just rooting everything but your target, then running around the corner and cohing yourself). Sadly I don't think Kaz will ever get his epic to find out [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Also you can check out Liia/Arae's sheet: that's an epic mage/donal's cleric that have duoed pretty much everything.

I will work him up in levels and see what he can do. This will be months down the road though, being new has its challenges in itself with gearing up and all that.

Picked off Skarlon in solb today with just a bat for a pet. He had the sword so he was left up with a wizzard buddy. Invis pulled the wizzard first then killed skarlon. Was a close fight and i had to step in at the end to tank and burn him down to flee hp range. I know it wasn't a full pop and I invis pulled, but its good enough for me :P
