I've been smoking pot daily for the past 4-5 years.

I am trying to take a break to lower my tolerance but whenever I try, i get a headache and feel like i have a fever until I take at least one hit.

Has anyone else had symptoms like this when trying to quit?
Unfortunately there hasn't been a great deal of research on this- that should change soon though. It may be physical withdrawal symptoms or it may be psychosomatic in nature. I know this isn't what you were looking for but I'd advise seeing a therapist as it's not uncommon to self-medicate with marijuana (daily use is a red flag) when there are underlying issues such as insecure attachment styles. You might not feel the need to smoke daily if you address these.

False, you can develop psychological and physiological withdrawal from anything that you repeatedly do as a habit over time that induces feelings or sensation:

According to many addiction specialists, potential addictions can include, but are not limited to, exercise addiction, food addiction, drug addiction, computer addiction, sex addiction and gambling addiction. Currently, only substance addictions and gambling addiction are recognized by the DSM-5. ΔFosB, a gene transcription factor, is now known to be a critical component and common factor in the development of virtually all forms of behavioral and drug addictions.[8][9][10] Classic hallmarks of addiction include impaired control over substances or behavior, preoccupation with substance or behavior, continued use despite consequences, and denial.[11] Habits and patterns associated with addiction are typically characterized by immediate gratification (short-term reward), coupled with delayed deleterious effects (long-term costs).[12]

Physiological dependence occurs when the body has to adjust to the substance by incorporating the substance into its "normal" functioning.[13] This state creates the conditions of tolerance and withdrawal. Tolerance is the process by which the body continually adapts to the substance and requires increasingly larger amounts to achieve the original effects. Withdrawal refers to physical and psychological symptoms experienced when reducing or discontinuing a substance that the body has become dependent on. Symptoms of withdrawal generally include but are not limited to anxiety, irritability, intense cravings for the substance, nausea, hallucinations, headaches, cold sweats, and tremors.

Some people smoke weed multiple times a day every single day and don't have any hobbies or activities in their life, inducing anxiety over their worthless shell when they lose the one thing that brings them pleasure. Kind of like when Nizzar was banned from Red99.

great advice. stop beating off to wood elves in WC. Get off the comp. Go outside. Take a walk. Say hi to someone now that you're not braindead from 24/7 420. meet a girl. date her. fuck her. marry her. have babies. take your kids to the park. beat off in the park since you're bored. get arrested. lose everything. smoke crack and shoot heroin in prison. tell your cellmates about the golden years of weed and EQ. start a guild. get backstabbed to death in pvp. in your final moments, remember p99.
U can do it bb
oh man this was beautiful. what a crescendo!!!

Take an Advil beforehand and deal with it.

i find addition to be a personality trait. Did coke every day for 3 months straight. Quit cold turkey no side effects. Smoked cigs for 10 years pack a day. Quit cold turkey. Been smoking weed everyday for 13 years minus about 2 weeks worth of dry time in those 13 years. I'd quit if i had a reason but i don't so will continue on [You must be logged in to view images. I never saw the commercial but its true. The weed has a higher % THC content with the different new hydroponics techniques in the mid-late 90s. The weed now, especially the strains coming out of california (probably elsewhere too), are unbelievable awesome. Newer and stronger strains are produced in mass these days especially due to the relaxing marijuana laws and strains are being produced that didnt exist before.

Ask anyone who smoked weed since the 60's+70's how much better the weed has gotten over the years.

I'm guessing the commercial was trying to say that the increased THC content is a bad thing.
Depends on what shit you were smoking in the 60s/70s. Punta Roja and others still blow away anything today. This claim has been around since the Reagan years. And prior to about 1975, there simply were not good testing methods. Domestic crops haven't risen in potency that much (only like 2%, and the peak potency was about 20 years ago).
