Caster Research
Yes, its a patch gripe [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
My 33 necro invested a lot of time/effort (and training points to an extent) in getting his research up to 118. Just logged in and it's been capped at 90 now... or at least that's what the UI is showing. Is it still 118 or did I waste a bunch of training points? [You must be logged in to view images. Probably bugged. Don't count on them reimbursing your skill points, either. Happened to me back in the day, and they said I was SOL.
Sorry for your loss :T

When I lose a level, my skill caps go down to what that level allows. When I level back up, my skill is immediately fully trained again. Maybe this works the same?

it may go up in skill when you level like previously mentioned, but I'm pretty sure tradeskills shouldnt be capped at level. Im pretty sure you used to be able to level tradeskills to any level no matter what the players level is, even at level 1

Given that the skill level shows up as red in my UI, I'm pretty sure the skill points aren't really "lost".

Alchemy has always been a level-capped tradeskill. I do not recall Research being level-capped though.

I don't think you lost the points, you're just capped until you level. You will gain those skill points back (hopefully heh). Use the formula below to calculate your current skill.

Also, this is lame. Not sure if this is exactly how it works here now. Quote:
