Default Anyone familiar with Remote Security Cameras?

was @ my moms for like 6 hours trying to figure that shit out

I had the ports forwarded on the router also had Upnp enabled
I set up a ddns tested it on the Dvr it passed the test

could not find much on fucking Google , I did come across a website that said maybe the ISP was blocking port 80 which it was blocked and i tried to port forward it.

Gave up and drove home

first time in my life i have been defeated by some electronic device my mom bought @ wal-mart

Its very possible that port 80 is blocked inbound to the house. ISP's sometimes do this so that you don't setup a webserver without paying for a commercial internet package.

Can you change the port to anything else? Can you access it internally? If so, then your issue lies somewhere with router>modem>ISP. A lot of modems have firewalls integrated these days, so you'd need to forward the ports from the ISP's device to your router, then your router to the DVR, etc.

not entirely sure if port 80 is the prob

the ports i set up for the dvr by the instructions was web port 85 , media port 9000, mobile port 16400. I have all these ports forwarded and a ddns set up put when i try to connect to the dvr with my public ip colon + web port it just brings me to some php error page. It should be connecting to the dvr

the php error page could mean one of (at least) 2 things:

1. Internal server error on the DVR (seems unlikely... why would an embedded system run a php server?). What is the error though? Could be a shitty rest service or something you cant access properly when using a browser
2. You are connecting to something else listening on that port

Also seconding the isp blocking port 80 thing, but I also agree it doesn't seem like it's trying to use that port

follow the instructions... you probably made a mistake setting up login creds, or using an incompatible browser, or are trying to host an IP address that you are not allowed to because of your ISP settings/limitations

it can be done so ur doing it wrong!

ps: above sig reads: Parts and Slames .. script font fail

im familiar with hacking into security cams using SHODAN, but not setting them up.

But given my sense of self righteousness, I feel as if I could do anything that another human is capable of doing
