Default Reagents for Mage pet

Ok so I was screwing around on a 11 mage the other day and scored 12. Brought up the Elemental fire pet (12) and tried to cast and received message that I needed a Lapis Lazuli (not sure of that gem name but close) when all references say it should be Malachite .
I checked the current P99 wiki page and that also claims Malachite.

I went and picked up said gem and was able to make pet and it was not that much more in PP so no biggie but.

Q:Is this a bug or what?

During a certain level range, the reagent switches to lapis. It'll switch back later in your mage's career. This is classic and appropriate - I think later on the reagent for every level was made malachite.

Dunno why it was that way in classic...
