Runerz's 20k and 80k Lotto!

I am going to start selling lottery tickets. There are going to be two separate lotteries drawings each week. In each lottery drawing there will only be 10 people able to by tickets per drawing to increase the chances of winning for the buyers. I will have the first 10 people sign up for lower tier lotto by sending me a PM on the forms and whoevers first ten names show up in my inbox will be slotted in the drawing ( I will be collecting payments throughout the week and on Monday the winner will be declared for both lotto's) The Higher Tier lotto will be conducted the same way with a higher price per ticket. I am going to associate numbers 1-10 to each name and randomly draw the winner on Monday Morning and announce the winner Via the Forms and a PM/tell will be sent to the winner.

Lower Tier Lotto ( Poor mans Lotto)

The price per ticket will be 3k and the Prize will be 20k which will be awarded to the winner on Monday night of every week.

I think guild/character reputation is going to come into this.... who's your main?

Is the draw going to be done in EC with witnesses? Can your other guildies play (ie - any chance of corruption to your buddies?)...lots of questions begin to emerge.

Hagglebaron and the Trade Fed we all used to trust, but there's been enough scamming lately that people are a lot more wary. Not sure I'd trust anyone to do an escrow for me these days anyway.

Runerz was my main and he was in BD, hes a 55 bard (when guild did recent guild change). My other 2 toons I play on are Darrknights (40 Sk), and a low bit chanter named Mezit.

The drawing will be randomly as in I literally will have pieces of paper in a hat 1-10 and draw them out while online in the EC tunnel

Well that's a good start if he's active and well known among the players with plat to gamble...good luck with it. I wouldn't use lower level characters, or an unguilded one.

Chances are that lotto thread has stirred interest both in the running of lotteries and wanting to get involved in them :p

I've really only had interest in a few of the guilds on p99 and the one I'm really wanting to go after is A-team! amazing players and have had nothing but good interactions with them.

instead of picking numbers from a hat you should probably give each person a number and /random 1 10 in front of the participants. so there's no way for you to manipulate and pick your friends number out of the hat "randomly"

I don't know about recent BDA but anyone who plays a class they're actively looking for can get in. My cleric was in there for a while before I took a break. Nice people, though recently their collective reputation seems to have nosedived despite most of the old guard being as awesome as ever.

Maybe you should collaborate with a couple of others and make a guild tag and build a collective reputation under it?

If you want to do something like this, your best bet is to charge a small % fee for each ticket. Let's say 5%. So each of the 10 people would give you 10,500pp and you would end up keeping 5k at the end. The winner takes 100k.

You should probably just keep 0% of the cut to build reputation first, and then start moving onto bigger deals and start cutting yourself in once you make a name for yourself.

I just tried doing this in the tunnel with 500p for raffle ticket. I said winner would take 85% of the pile. There was absolutely no interest in this. In fact, some guy came up to me and constantly called me scammer over and over.

Never set an amount of ticket sales. Never tell them you are giving them a certain percentage.


State ticket prices, state set prizes. Run the lottery on time. Make sure the amount of tickets sold is the numbers you run. Keep the extra or add in door prizes for second and third rolls.

Its like insurance. Nobody cares for spending the money on it, people get mad when they know details, but they fucking love it when it works in their favor.

I just did one as a fun social experiment. Charged 100p per entry. Gave out 90% of the pile. 5 people did it, so someone won 450p.

The other thing is casinos give you immediate results. You know whether you won or lost in 5 seconds. Raffles and books require a much longer wait.

Will all the negativity this thread has already had I am shutting this lotto down. Was trying to make a fun game for the community and make some cash at the same time but since there are so many trust issues on this server I'm stopping.
