New Player Experience

I played to 60 on Blue and became bored after a while. I wanted a change of pace... that of going back to scratch in a new environment while still getting to relive the nostalgia of Everquest. One really can't experience the whole world in one run after all. With the level regressive exp bonus restored (and quite intelligently implemented I might add) I gave it a shot over the weekend.

I had some trepidation about the server as my only knowledge was the flame wars and trolls of the forum. So far my experience has been positive. I've met and been helped by folks that are just as kind as Blue when I started there. As a cleric, I know I will be grouping a lot and while there are not many players running around I have been fortunate enough to find some good duo's and other small groups.

TL;DR
If you were like me an wondering if the server was as bad as the forums make it out to be; just give it a try.

I rage quit the server previously at lvl 36 on my necro after dying to a twink with twice my HP in Misty Thicket. I was then camped at the barbarian vendor in WC by a complete stranger and lost most of my level to him while trying to convince him to help me kill the guy in Misty Thicket.

I was helped prior to this situation with 200 plat ( from Dallas ) and a robe from a bard in Nihilum (cannot remember name sorry) and even found some power leveling through most of 25-32. I would say alot of the server is friendly because they would like to grow the server population. But the few bad eggs really spoil the dozen by posting on these forums and constantly trash talking each other in OOC.

I have recently returned & created a new character. I will be going Shaman this time as I have never played the class, it is a good solo choice, & I won't die simply for not having Jboots.

If you see Rasputia in game give me a "HOW U DOIN" for a SoW =)

ya, fact is you need some thick skin to make it on this server. just remember its a video game and if you are not leveling as fast as you would on blue because you are pvping, that doesn't mean you are behind or losing. it just means its hard out there on the streets. glad you are giving it another shot.
