What is it with the large numbers of players on this server who are inattentive or just go afk all the time when they are in groups. It also seems the class most represented are necros. Just about every time I have had a necro in the group they are continually going afk, or if they are not afk they just sit there doing nothing. No spells, no pet attack.

I played on live for about 5 years and I never remember having to play with as many lazy players as I see here.

Then theres the people who announce a 10 minute afk (fine) but then come back in 30+ mins and inform the group that they must log. Thanks for mooching half an hour of xp from everyone.

This is what you do. i dont group much but when i do i guess i have been lucky. get few afkers here and there but if your gone for more then 20 mins you can find somewhere else to mooch.

Yep kick them, they're usually not as AFK as people think - 9/10 times they're majestically back within the next 60 seconds asking for an invite again.

Let them off twice, and on the 3rd kick you don't invite them back...I keep a mental note (Enterlooper in particular, is he/she still playing?) of people who do this too often.

Yeah I hate when caster classes get a bad rep because of this. I love to group but seems like its very hard these days being a Wizard. I know we should only be quad kiting but its nice to play with people in dungeons every now and then and make some friends. If I go afk in the group i let them know. If its more than a 5 min afk, I tell the group whats going on and can kick me if needed. Ninja afker's can go to hell.

Wizards and Bards are also bad for this sort of behavior--worse than necromancers, probably. Wizards do it to the extent the class is often avoided by experience groups. Folks who AFK a lot tend to pick these types of classes because they can do it without seriously harming their groups for the most part.

I had a Cleric take an unannounced AFK for over half an hour on one occasion. It didn't matter since the wife was there to pick up the slack with her Shaman, but gave the group a laugh. One group member said that the same Cleric had wiped other groups doing the same thing.

A good wizard also is also great at CC between his fetter, snare, and stun. Another thing is is that all these spells are such low mana you can always have enough mana to greatly contribute to your group in high level dungeons, if you have your shit together. The powerful dungeon crawling wizard is a rare breed indeed - - - you will always be "OOM" if you think a wizard is just about "DPS" and "HURRRRRR - - - FIREBALL!!!!!!"

Without question the #1 lazy class is Cleric. Great clerics are fucking awesome, shitty clerics really suck. Most sit there BP healing at 70 or 80m and never toss out a single stun when a pet breaks or if a mob is running. And god forbid you toss out a root once in a while. Or god forbid you max out your evocation skill. Funny also how they aren't doing anything to begin with and they never check the spell window to see if someone ends up getting poisoned - - only till someone is like "shitshit I'm poisoned and almost dead" do you get a heal. Even funnier - if you have a good wizard in your party you're not getting poisoned or nuked really - making the cleric even lazier!

its stuff like this that simply isn't known unless you've played the class extensively (or at least have more play time than i do apparently). So thank you for the input on the class - i have a buddy of mine who; admittedly is a great guy, rarely stuns though and prefers to lob fireballs (albiet he's in his teens)

Though I have to say, it was hard to /afk my way to 60 after I got FA (and subsequently FD) - I mean the ability to Bash with 2handers boosted my DPS 100%, and some people seemed to notice it.

I think Bozo the Clown needs to play a Cleric and see how stressful it is. It is a thankless, no loot, can't even go to pee class on here next to a Chanter. All 3 of my highest toons are Healers. At times you wish you where a DPS class other than the tank that can take a break once in awhile. Or if you need to leave as a Healer the whole group breaks with no replacement. You have to be ready to group for hours as a Healer. No pop in and out stuff.

As to the thread topic, I've also noticed a regular phenomenon of outright xp moochers, and people falling asleep or otherwise afk for way too long in group. It's partly because there are so many potheads and drunks playing in proportion to who was playing in the past on live. There is also a larger percentage of players who are married and/or have kids to look after, or other live-in relatives or friends who demand their attention. People also multitask while playing much more than they did in the past. The game is free, and more than 10 years old. All of these things come naturally.

Back when I played on live, the things people used to do (all day, every day) to piss each other off like blatant and rampant training, killstealing, etc. were far worse than anything I've seen on this server.

By my statement I meant you really can't be jumping up looting things because you have to be on your ass all the time medding. If you have the Epic the clicky helps a ton. But the cast time is scary on it. But yeh, you are right. A cleric can have as good of gear as a Tank. They just can't hit any mob to kill it worth a crap.

My highest healer is a Druid. Without CII I am in some big trouble healing a fast paced group. My Shaman works out the best, but you are doing something constantly on them. Canni dance, slows, buffs, debuffs, CC, sending in the Dog, etc. You talk about no time to Pee lol.

I find the Druid the least stressful to play of all my healers. The group knows that they can't have big pulls so it is a lot less fast paced with no haste or slows , or CH they know they can't get. So it is more relaxed I think. Plus when I run oom on the druid everyone gets to take a 5 minute break or more to get to FM lol. And with Hide as a Druid u can go Pee and not die very often. Not as fast XP but hey its better than none. :p

I frequently go afk in-group on my enchanter, usually just to smoke a cigarette or walk my dog/both. Eevry time I do, I tell people im going afk, refresh all breezes and hastes, drop pet, kill it, then hide/invis. Very rarely I will have to go afk for more than something like that, and if I do I don't even say "Hey, Im going to go afk for up to 30 minutes", I say "Hey I'm going afk for along time, camping right here, TRY to keep a spot open, if not no biggie." And they usually keep it open, especially because I'm not being an xp-sponging ass.

Full med from zero mana takes about 10 mins. So 5-10 fights seems about right if they are dumping all their mana at once.
