IP Ban???

Okay, so this probably isn't the right forum section, but Idk where else to go. Sometimes when I zone in, I get disconnected and try logging back in and it says I'm IP banned temporarily? For what reason? I googled this and it seems the only reason anyone gets IP banned is because two people in the same house are playing at the same time. But I'm the only one in my house playing Everquest at any given time. So, why am I getting IP banned? Thanks in advance.

It's because your character is still active ingame for a few minutes after a disconnect.

This is the right forum.

Your IP was slow to disconnect from the server and when you attempt to log back in the server thinks a second account trying to log in which is prohibited.

I don't know of a way to tell your connection to disconnect faster.

When this has happened to me, it clears up quickly and I log back in without issue.
