Factioning question

Can I increase faction with an NCP by upping my faction with ANY of it's associated factions, or is it single base faction that matters?

My specific example, I want to complete ive etched quests with my necro, i.e. this guy:

Will increasing any of the 3 listed factions equally affect my /con?

No. While you may get 3 or more faction hits for killing it, only the NPC's primary faction affects it's /con.

No NPC's are only on ONE faction. It's usually (probably always) one of the factions listed when you kill the mob, that is the faction you need to adjust in order to do quests.

The other factions listed are just "alliances" per se.

I would assume you need to kill orcs in Highpass Hold.

Yes a custom server, but I'm guessing it's just pulled from original game code.

Not sure on his level but would getting a high level enchanter to charm the hand-in NPC help? Would make him indifferent at least.

This pulls from the PEQ database, which is the "stock" database that's provided for emu servers. It's not exactly "pulled from the original game code" since that stuff is stored serverside, but the database is constructed from best guesses and research by the people who work on PEQ. It's known to be quite inaccurate and a bit sloppy however, which is why P99 exists in the first place. While PEQ is trying to "race" and create a database for all expansions, P99 focuses on high accuracy on only the classic game. There's another database called AX which also only focuses on classic expansions, but has a lot of the same issues that PEQ does. P99 was originally based on the AX database, but has evolved to become much better. The difference is now that AX is free to use and P99 is proprietary.

This is a noob question but can you do the quests by just feigning death? Doesn't that effectively give you indifferent faction for quests? Is the issue here that you need higher than indifferent faction or that feign death won't let you interact with quest NPCs?

Bro ivy etched armor is outdated. Making things much more difficult than they need to be!
