Hello, I just added Project 1999 everquest as a non-steam game to steam, and its given me the steam overlay on it (shift+tab)!! this is awesome because now i can use steam chat without minimizing EQ.
My question is.. (To GM's as I know everyman and his dog is gonna probably err on the side of caution if they don't honestly know)
Is it a bannable offense as it may/maynot (i dont know) interfere with the EQ exe. Its not like I'm actually cheating here, I just wonder if it can be picked up by your detection programs as a cheat. Basically giving a false positive!
Thanks!

besides being not very classic I can't imagine it would be an issue. It's not like you cant do the same thing on your cellphone/laptop/second computer, or even by windowing EQ properly on one computer.
I understand why you may be a bit concerned but my guess is it is perfectly legal. U do lose immersion points however!

Thankyou... I wonder if a GM will see this, it is a very valid question... plus i play in windowed anyway and have 2 monitors lol, I just like tinkering lol!

I don't see why not. It's not giving any added advantage to the game itself.

Thinking about it, if anyone is ever on Mumble that tends to put an overlay in the game.

I've used vent overlay before.

I could never get the vent overlay to work, but glad to know it is possible
Now the mumble overlay works like a charm :)

I use overwolf all the time. Takes good videos whenever I get into a funny situation. And I can browse the web during Fullscreen games ;)
