omg lagg in TT - yes posting here cause its not really a bug

its my 6 time of logging completely out and back in again to so much lag i cant cast spells or track or send tells or see guildchat or say

cast camo... spell gems wont refresh, going from 210ms to 2k ms

in again, i succored which seemed to help the other day, go figure.

now i can play but i am at 280 ms, not great but it does run

camped out to help a friend came back its the same thing, cant cast cant track at 280ms

dang tried the egress trick to see it that would fix me, and it took my mana, but didnt port me.

signed into game with not enough mana to cast it /sigh

still no tracking or say or guildchat now spiking 7680ms, but vent and all other internet normal speed

logged in just now, 128 ms, but i cant track and spell gems wont refresh, no /gu or say nada.

It's cost me a couple of horrible corpse runs in the past (ping shot from 200 up to 7k or more), turned out I died nowhere near where I was running.

There's another tip until they sort it out - don't try to move through to Sebilis etc, log out or zone back to EJ :(

someone told me to do the following which resolved the problem for me. I had the same thing on THursday.

"I renamed the files below in EQ folder

trakanon_chr.s3d to trakanon_chr.s3dx
trakanon_sndbnk.eff to trakanon_sndbnk.effx
trakanon_sounds.eff to trakanon_sounds.effx "

Now it should be pointed out that "renaming" them is the same as removing them.. it causes eq to not recognize the files.

on topic tho, ive been having this same problem with TT for quite a while, at first i thought it was just my shitty laptop, but after talking around it seems like its been a problem for a few people, seems like its starting to affect more people lately tho

It's not even the detectable latency, I was in TT at that time and my lag bar was unchanged (showing 68-71ms) but on and off for about an hour it would take 5-10 seconds before my tracking would list anything after activating it. Lag bar didn't skip or show any increase in ms during the entire trip there.
