On my server (AB) back on live, we had a channel called taxi for obvious reasons. If i wanted a port i could just /join taxi and getting a port was rather easy. If i havent missed anything obvious i now have to / all druid blabla and bug people to get a port.
Any chance we can introduce this? Or were channels introduced in an expansion later than kunark?

Channels aren't implemented on this server, nor will they ever be, I believe.

I don't think I've ever waited more than 5-10 minutes for a port even during non-peak hours.

/w all druid commons
/w all druid ecommons
/w all druid dreadlands
/w all druid overthere

/t Level34+Druid "are you available for a port?"

If a 34+ Druid is non-anon in one of those zones, 90% chance they will be willing to port.

I prefer to /who all halfling cleric and then ask them for a port

I tried to make this work but no one else expressed interest aside from telling me "it was a cool idea" lol

I misread the title of this thread as

The Taxi Challenge

My expectations were underwhelmed.

you would be amazed at how often a higher level ranger gets asked for ports, too

You'd be surprised how many times my wiz gets asked for clarity, by the same people, when I'm not even anon, when I'm shouting wiz ports available. :(

If you're having a hard time finding a port you can always check IRC - I hang out there and can often log on to port people. But I agree with the advice in this thread that / all druid 39 60 and / all wizard 39 60 will generally do the trick.

I usually do /who all druid 24- 28 all and ask for port and say i'm desperate (1k for a fast port) then call them a loser when they say they can't.

Just play it safe and ask any halfling you see for a port. Even if they're dual wielding swords.
