View Full Version : Hello Goodbye
Im going to stop playing Orsk as well as the shaman I have. It was fun working my way up. The people i met here were great, and some others not so great, not everyone enjoyed me im sure but thats that i guess.
I love EQ i love the warrior class and i genuinely love my character Orsk, and by love i mean it was so much fun building him up while lvling with others, upgrading gear, getting his epic quest done etc etc.
Im not sure what im going to do with these accounts i dont think i could possibly let orsk go into anothers hands. I thought about switching to red and i know now it was just something i tried to do to keep me interested. I just dont have the time to compete on the level i would ideally like to.
Im posting this here in server chat looking for ideas on what it is i should do with all the stuff i have compiled over the time played on p99.I will be on tomorrow to check it out and hopefully theres some good stuff i can work with.

Hey bud, had some fun times. I would definitely hold on to your accounts. You may want to play again in the future and I think you have a good name that I would hate to see trashed by owners down the line. As for all your plats I know a good place for them
But in all seriousness, keep your stuff cause you never know. Take care man.

You will be greatly missed by me Orsk.
If there is any sliver of a chance you would come back, I wouldn't give away all your stuff. It's sort of like a trophy right?
If you plan to never come back, I'd do some sort of trivia event or give one item away to each person you feel has made an impact on you in the game.

You were unnecessarily rude and often downright incomprehensible, but it's always a shame to see someone leave. You should give your droppable gear away to actual noobs (no reason for it to rot on a character you probably won't play anymore) in game, but you should keep your account in case you do decide to return. Also trading accounts is immoral, so yeah :)

keep everything. you may want to return for velious
ive got some buds who are starting blue completely fresh if you want to give them plat though
i wanted them to play on red but they want a nostalgic experience in which grouping / people exist, etc... :(

Giving your hard earned treasure away to new players is a horrible idea. You have no idea what sort of people they are, how long they will be around, or if they would even greatly respect the amount of time YOU put into gaining the stuff.
In my opinion - either keep your earnings safely logged out on your accounts I case you ever wish to return, give them to one of your true friends that you have met in your time here, or if you really never wish to return to the server and feel that no one deserves your hard earned belongings - simply delete it all.
Orsk - you were quite a stubborn, jumpy, sometimes rude dick. But you were always honest, trustworthy, never in any way shady, and always let people know what you truely thought instead of going behind their back and talking smacks. I've seen you around here for years and will definitely be a little bit baffled by seeing you leave, if you leave for good.
I really hope you can figure something out to spark up enough interest to remain a part of this community. Even if it means deleting, rerolling, creating a new identity for yourself with an entirely new attitude towards this server.

Orsk, keep your stuff flat out.
Orsk, don't give away your gear/accounts. This is what the original bouncerr did (and i believe he actually MQ'd the maestro hand for you for free) and his account was banned within months for SEQ/MQ use. Take a permanent leave of absence and come back and mess around when Velious drops.

Keep your accounts and your gear. You just don't know what the future holds and whether or not you'll want to come back at some point.

Don't do anything with your account. I gave away a guised mage and guised monk when i thought I quit - only to come back later and regret it.

I'm old school so in my opinion don't keep your accounts/stuff "in case you come back." Keep your accounts/stuff because there shouldn't ever be another Orsk. Using quitting or taking a break as an excuse to distribute your wealth is nice and will without a doubt make someone's day, but all of your stuff distributed among the rabble of P99 makes your accomplishments less than the sum of its parts. I'm not saying be a miser and bury yourself with your gold but if you don't feel like you're getting enjoyment out of playing Orsk it's not bad to just leave him as a testament to what you've done. There is plenty of wealth to go around on P99 and it's free for anyone to take, even without getting hand outs or gaming account sales, and I know that first hand.
All that said you SHOULD come back for Velious and all, but in the mean time, don't just start throwing your stuff around willy nilly! If anything, have a going away party in the tunnel (or Gfay or some out of the way newbie zone like Qeynos/Misty) and award some prizes if you have an abundance of riches you won't miss

Keep your stuff. There's only one p99 and you'll want to check things out again eventually.

Don't give anything away, don't sell your characters
Change your passwords, and then go on hiatus so you know your stuff will be there when you get ready for more EQ.
Conversely you could join a new guild, make some new friends, try to re-energize your EQ experience, heard that works for some people.

Delete all your stuff. Put p99 out of your mind. Realize its just a game, and all virtual stuff, and it all really means nothing.
Close the door to wasting more of you life here, and try and stay away.
Having lvl 60 characters that are geared will just try and suck you back in. Don't let it.
Destroy of give everything away. Even if you sold your accounts for 500k pp or whatever, you'll be tempted to come back and start again.
Be free!

I would put everything I own on my toon, and die. I would change my password (write it down, or email it to yourself) in the process. Everyone who takes a break from this server seems to give out their information and end up surprised that they get stripped. This way everything is safe on a decayed body, and can always ask for a GM to summon it for you if you ever come back.
I'm not saying this as a staff member, I am saying it as a former player. I would think this would be the safest and best route to take. I know summoning bodies isn't hard and takes all of 5 seconds to do and I had no problem doing it for people.

Keep your accounts; velious will eventually come out and you will want to relive that!

I think i am going to go down this route and i appreciate the input from everyone right nows just doesnt seem possible to do what i would like to do in game and truely enjoy my time spent.
Thanks all for the thoughts and PMs ill hold onto my stuff like most of you are saying. I really wouldnt like to see Orsk sullied up in some way.
As far as samwise and faerie go i am honest in my dealings and try to be fair as possible but you two are whorebags.

Killing yourself and leaving a dead body with all your loot on it to decay and relying on staff to restore it does not sound like a sound long term solution... just my opinion. Just leave things as is.

I second this, I suppose if you are super paranoid about someone hacking into your account you could go for the corpse method. I let my mains account sit for nearly 2 years and didn't touch it, came back and everything was exactly how I left it...but only one person (who i've known for 25 years in real life) ever knew my username/pass.
Don't ever sell your main.
You were fun to be around when I was playing, would hate to find somebody else behind your guys if I ever come back.
