View Full Version : Is 23 high enough to group/hunt in HHK?

Spent 1 level in Mistmoore and already I'm tired of the party drama, bad pathing, and enormous amount of trains from the GY or Castle area. I want to move to HHK now and start on the goblins.

Is 23 good enough to head there, or too low?

Best to wait until 25, it may be a little harder to find a group at 23. I would recommend SK or Unrest at 23

Hmm...alright, I may go back to Unrest then. There's like a 5 person waiting list just for the MM Pond area right now.

MM was always a shit show for me...unrest too for that matter. I love SK personally because its not as crowded but you can usually find a group or duo. Also it's not too bad of a run to HHK when you're ready.

what class are you? IMO you can move into highkeep somewhere from 19-22 as long as you have a group. at 20 as a caster though you'll get quite a few resists.

i was soloing the basement at 24 on my necro. probably only soloable that low for a necro or a mage, or a really twinked melee. maybe an ench.

Depends on your class. Unless you're a tank, I think you should be ok down there at 23 - and its fairly quick progress in Highkeep :)

23 is fine for grouping in the Highkeep basement. It can be a tough camp because it can really only support one or two groups, depending on levels and such, but if you can get in a group, it's excellent exp.

Just hard for a tank to tank the warrior room at 23, any other class and you should fit in ok :)

Trains were worse in classic because if they merely ran by you, you'd get added to the hate list.

That said, bunch of poopy bluebie diapers in Mistmoore.

Unrest is better but its a tad overcamped at times.

Get on a list for group in Unrest
Don't be the puller
Bring your Ghoulbane

I would honestly try to stick to unrest, fireplace and basement is good exp into 30s.

My experience with HHK was always nothing to write home about. Great ZEM but groups always struggled with the higher level goblins which resulted in long ass wait times between mob spawns.

Floating between unrest/mistmoore gives you two options to group up to level 35 in close proximity of eachother, hell even up to 40 in mistmoore if you get a good group.

HHK basement is all about using the guards to make the initial break if you aren't a boss/with a good group.

From there everyone just has to stay at the chair and keep the spawn rotation down and its sick xp and you can turn in ears for great faction. Well, faction mattered more on the (live) PvP server, but still do it imo.

Unrest as a paladin is awesome obviously so do it.

Mistmoore is great for a paladin because of your stuns and the number of caster npcs, but often your group will be killing red cons and... well.. stuns don't land on those. Funny that much of your group xping early on is even/yellow/red and all of your 50+ levelling is blues.

If you get stuck with the pulling job, learn to use calm to split spawns and root mobs away from the group on the pull (and keep them rooted) rather than have 3 things beating on you. Let the healer spend his mana for healing, don't waste your mana nuking undead unless you have another puller. Save lay hands for your healer/enchanter/self emergency. GG.

I'm a Paladin.

A 23 Paladin can tank all the goblins save the Warriors, Raiders, and maybe the Seers. There's still lots of goblins on the top floor you can do, a trio would probably suit you well there.

edit -- oh, and be weary of "A Pickclaw guard" they can be rough, they're slightly more rare on the top floor than the lower levels gobbies tho.

Should I stay in HHK past 30 or is there a better place for me at Lv30 as a Pally?

I got a full level from 32 to 33 on Pharamkos in that group we did together today bean, if thats any indicator.

imo its good to stay there right through 34 and then leave at 35. you start to get a lot of greens at 35, and mixed in with it being a hell level the exp gets excruciatingly slow at 35.

How about a place that has lots of Undead a Lv27 Pally can handle and still get decent exp/coin. I would think Unrest is no good by now.

the basement of unrest is still decent til the high 20s/early 30s.

I don't know if I want to mess with Festering Hags.

Not unless you're in a full group ideally. If there's a druid present get him to harmony them, and single pull. 3 hags are going to be good XP but quite brutal in the early/mid 20s.

If I went back to kill guards at HHK at Level 35, would they be enough to get me to 40? I wanna be 39-40 before I head to CoM.
