View Full Version : Ahngfei / Telperien - Training in Crushbone

So yeah, newbie problems I guess, right? :)

There is a high level monk by the name of Ahngfei repeatedly training us and taking our camp in Crushbone. He seems to be naked (for some reason), but was on his druid, Telperien, earlier. We had some camp contesting issues (We had been pulling the castle and slave pits for a while, he moved in on the slave pits), but they seemed to resolve. He's now on his second stint in as many hours of FD training mobs on us.

Anyone know this guy? He's anon, so I'm hoping he's guildless. At least for your sake.

Ugh!

Thanks,
-Ripwind

you can target him then type /guildstatus to see if he is in a guild.

Hmm had another person asked me for help recently, with some asshat trying to push out a group in unrest, all so he could PL with his 60 druid friend.

Pieces of shit have really began to float up now that summer is here.

Fuck off, children.

I've not heard on any of the current GMs opinion on powerlevelling. Amelinda (ignoring what we know now) used to take quite a hard stance on people wrecking MM in particular for regular groups because some PL group was going on.

As for Crushbone, there's always some asshat that wants to feel like a god in a low level zone...always CB. Hopefully he got petitioned and spoken to :p

Is it "legal" to claim two camps (Slavers *and* castle)? On live that would get you laughed at and rolled immediately on at least one of them.

We had been taking both because nobody was there, for probably a good hour and change. However, he suddenly appeared after one pull and began berating us for stealing his spawns. Which pretty much started the whole thing. A simple "Hey, mind if I take the pits since you guys are doing the castle anyway?" probably would have been a better start to our relationship.

... which is the way any half decent player would have done it, I agree. Although to be fair, he may not have known you were pulling both?

Whenever you are pulling from somewhere you aren't sitting, know that someone can come in and take it.

If you are claiming a camp, go ahead and throw an OOC out there.

If someone claims a camp you were pulling from, be cool about it. You weren't in the camp, so you have no claim to it after someone else claims it.

I thought youd be greatful, I responded not once but tiwce ( now 3 times! ) to you, thats 3x the responses you normally get with your attention seeking. Apparently its not enough..keep posting though maybe someone else will feed your pathetic attempt to be noticed.

Harrison accomplished more in the 2 years he was enlisted than your entire life consists of, or will ever consist of, Rhambuk, so show him some god damn respect.

Donated to a KWSK druid tonight for a port, donated on my mule in ec for a pickup on my alt. Could have easily taken my 100p but was very nice in return! shouldn't label a guild based on a few bad apples.

I know jeremy I know! I'm so glad he was overseas helping our wounded soldiers, I mean sitting in his basement bragging about how he did those things on a 14 year old elf simulator...

Anyways, before these faggots trolled, this is completely untrue and you need to go read the rules.

The rules state you need to be IN the camp to claim it. You cannot claim a camp from the other side of a zone.

Everybody gets one. Even the obvious trolls.

And hell, Harrison is like a server legend past his prime. He deserves a little attention now and then, even if he does appear to have dementia.

Just want to chime in on Ahngfei: I've grouped with him quite a few times and felt he was skilled as well as courteous. To hear of what transpired is rather shocking, not to discredit the OP in any way. Maybe some miscommunication and perhaps a "bad day" are the culprit.

I wish all parties involved the best.

Thanks

The camp thing aside, what surprised me the most was that he decided to log on his "main" Ahngfei and proceed to FD train our group at the castle. He did it multiple times over the course of about an hour. In fact, another group ended up moving in to the slaver camp while he was training us, so his twink alt lost his camp, which I think infuriated him even more.

What I don't get is why he was naked. It immediately made me think that someone had purchased the account. We actually noticed that, after a while, he started putting on some of the leather armor that was dropping from the mobs. Weird dude.

Actually no that's only when other players are in the zone. When no one is in the zone and you are taking multiple camps, then someone comes in and wants to take a camp, you get first choice of the camps you were claiming.

I've levelled my Paladin coming up through Crushbone about a month ago now.
Ahngfei was there, Pulling Mobs FOR US, Killing them to like 10% and FD'ing, he did this for about 2 hours, and it was not a one off. I logged in several days and saw him helping groups and he was not naked Either.

So i'm guessing the kind souled Ahngfei may of sold his Monk, cause there was nothing but kindness from this guy. Just can't picture the guy that I met doing this to people.

Funny, we actually had a monk there helping us with some of the TR mobs for a while (Also not camped at the time) by the name of Lyfgard.

Maybe it was an off day for Ahngfei. Or maybe he did sell his account, since the toon was naked.

Such a shame if he sold his account. He really was one of the most kind and well-spoken players I've met on P99.

Definitely one of the downsides of account selling: reputation--one of the hallmarks of EQ--becomes rather confounded. I'm not entirely against selling (not that my opinion matters much), but perhaps a mandatory name change would help remedy the reputation awkwardness.

My interpretation:

The monk was FD'ing low hit point mobs in front of you. You didn't kill it. It ran. Grabbed friends. Caused a train.

No, not what was happening. He intentionally logged off of his alt, pulled the entire throne room down onto us, and feigned. This happened multiple times. Obviously, nobody here has any reason to believe me, but I have no reason to lie about any of it. Doesn't really benefit me to do so. He was just being a scumbag is all. Which is too bad, because it sounds like other interactions with this character (previous owner or not) seem to have been pretty positive.

However, Lyra, what you described is what Lyfgard (The other monk) was doing with some of the higher level throne room mobs. What Ahngfei was doing was intentionally training us by FD'ing, and then clearing the mobs we were camping and taunting us in OOC. Lyfgard was only 18th level though, so he couldn't really defend us.

Not that Ahngfei necessarily wasn't causing mischief, but if it says anything about his character he did give my first character, a level 4 Druid, 100pp yesterday. That was such a helpful and nice thing to do.

Sounds more and more like the dude/dudette was just having a bad day and over-reacted. I'll have to ping him tonight.

Thanks, those of you jumping to his defense, for turning the boat around a bit.

It wasn't him, he went to the store and accidentally left his pc on char select screen. His little brother must've logged in and caused all the mischief.

Fraps evidence of training and FD'ing would get scumbags like this a suspension/ban I'd say.

Keep it loaded, and like EQ Titanium it can be acquired at a very very low price.

LOL. Perfect.

I did log it, and took screenshots. One of the other party members did FRAPS it I believe, actually. I know my group and a few other people in the zone reported him.

I'll try to talk to him again tonight and give him the benefit of the doubt. It might be a stretch trying to have an adult conversation with them, based on his tells, /ooc remarks, and behavior. Maybe someone ran over his cat or something.

Turns out I'm the asshat who wants to feel like a god in a low level zone. I thought I was just helping lowbies out by buffing them :(.

He definitely did do the training....

But he was naked; which was odd. He basically flipped out on us because we took slavers which he wasn't pulling for the longest time. Like an hour went by and nothing then suddenly we're a bunch of brats with no respect. Then got on his naked main to "teach us a lesson".

Then he proceeded to train us a few times and told us to "respect camps". Later on I saw him give away 100 plat also... I don't know if the guy is bi polar or was trying to offset his bad behavior.
