PSN is free. PS Plus is thier paid for online service. My best bet is they will adopt a model similar to xbox and require PS Plus to play online games. They don't charge right now. But hey, I think we all saw PS4's charge for full online access coming.

it wouldn't be surprising, but they're proly going to do what microsoft does in a nicer way.

Well.. because of all the hoopla over Microsoft's DRM, they have already publicly come out and said they won't do any of it like them. The system won't need to be online at all times to use. There will not be any device that must be plugged in for it to operate (like the kinect). When you purchase a game it's no licensed to you, but you actually own the disc, so current buying / selling / trading will still be the way business operates.
The only thing that it's looking like will change will be the fact that you can play online games totally for free at the moment. I'm going to guess that there will start to be a subscription fee for SP Plus to be able to play Battlefield and other dumbass shooters online.
BTW I read all the above information on Sony Playstation's Facebook, so it's legit.

they're not going to try and revamp the entire market like some mobster squeezing every penny from the neighborhood.

All I know is that this point I dont feel like the Ecksbawcks Juan is going to be viable given the competition. It may have some good games, but being that much more expensive, and controlling how you play the way it is being suggested isnt my cup of tea.
Besides guise im going to call it now... ESO for PS4...who wants to start TMO?

i've spent less on steam than i have on (many) single games in the past.. i usually wait for shit to go on 75% off sales. i have a couple hundred games i never play but it's super nice to know i can.........forever.
