Dark Race question : Overthere faction vs FV?

As an Ogre I really like the idea of being able to hang out in The Overthere, but it shuts you out of way too many dungeons (this is pretty shit design from Verant but it was over a decade ago so I digress) - Kaesora/Charasis/Karnor's Castle.

So what do you guys do?

Is it possible to get your FV faction up high enough to buy/sell there? Do you just get your cab faction up instead?

You should be able to kill junk enough to do quests for FV faction.

There were some reports that certain race/class (and forced deity) combos would be perma KOS even when their faction was maxed.

I know Rallos Zek (the Ogre Shaman only choice) is a little less hated than Inny/Cazic, though.
