Unless you plan to 3 man royals or duo fungi for the next year dropping 600k+ on the BP seems a bit excessive =/

Usually all for free economy but these BPs are an area where I wish TMO would open the guild bank to make purchases more accessible given how long the shit has been farmed.. at the same time I understand that members buying them from their bank is an incentive to get people to keep raiding.

What's the chance of a donal's dropping off trak? 1 in 6 maybe? And he spawns only once every 3 days on average? Even over the course of 2 years of him being killed, that's still fewer than 50 donal's BPs on the whole server. And how many of those are on inactive accounts? On accounts that got banned? And it's the single most powerful item on the server, probably, or at least one of the top 3. And even after it eventually gets nerfed at some point in the future, it will STILL be an amazing item (imo). 400 mana (less a few med ticks during cast time) saved every few minutes on a tank? Plus free CHs for shamans or necros or whatever? Etc etc.

As far as 600k for this BP... meh. I spent 400k on my stupid RoA and all I do with that are beat up lowbie mobs and sky trash ;)

*Patch Day*

Today's patch primarily consists of tuning of Velious zones as well as content and other additions. In addition, the following changes have been implemented on the Live servers:

- High-end items that have a activatable (right-click) healing effect have in several cases had their casting times increased.
These threads from the day after the December 19, 2000, patch also confirm it was a 20 second casting time from Kunark -> Velious + 14 days.


Change 2: 30 seconds and 7.5 min 1hp/tick buff preventing recast

The second change occurred about 11 weeks after Velious released. Donal's BP = 30 second cast time with the effect "Complete Heal" having a component buff that lasts 7.5 minutes, non-removable, non-dispellable, 1hp/tick preventing other Donal's BP clicks from landing as long as the buff is in place.

I tend to agree here but I think the bar needs to be really high to go against classic. Things like the donals or Sirran or invis pulling are just so so so gamebreaking that they need to be fixed regardless of whether they are classic or not. Stuff like the Blade of Carnage? As much as Sakuragi weeps over that particular Verant idiocy, I don't think that qualifies.

I disagree on BoC, it's a classic example of Verant not itemizing something cuz they thought they had more time. If it had dropped cloth caps b4 it was fixed a day after Luclin, would it drop cloth caps here because classic? Unfortunately I think the answer would be yes.
