Arcade games. I work for an amusement company so other then EQ and the occasional hour or 3 playing Black Ops 2 on PS3 i spend alot of time working on and playing arcade games. My enjoyment on playing them really depends on how much work i had to do to the machine to get it working in the first place.

We have a one of these cabinets that has been scrapped for parts for the last 7 years. Eventually I'm gonna do something with the cabinet:

yea the dreamcast one was actually the best port of it to console, it's basically the same as the arcade graphically and in gameplay

I played it first on Gamecube with my little brother. Was a fun game.

SNES. Period.

Street Fighter 2 on the SNES was an all time favourite. My friend had it on his Megadrive (Genesis to you US folks), and it was a horrible port...had to press start to switch from punches to kicks.

SNES was the better console but games like Road Rash 2, Sonic games and various others kept it competitive :)

Probably Golden Eye 64 was the most fun I ever had on a console game.

NES.

The games make EQ nostalgia pale by comparison. Sometimes I just let the music from Shadowgate play in the background while I'm making love with my wife.

Snes/Genesis. NES/N64 right behind those.

there's really only 5 console games that lead the way when talking about rage induced drunk brawls of epic proportions with your friends

1) Fusion Frenzy on Xbox or Xbox 360 (maybe it's on other consoles, dunno)

2) Call of Duty 2 for me, but probably works with any call of duty if you're playing split screen together at the same place. The screen peek factor causes large amounts of rage.

3) Goldeneye, same as above

4) mario kart, snes or n64 version

5) smash brothers, similar to fusion frenzy, but for me at least, much much much more rage was produced from FF.

The screen peek factor causes large amounts of rage

We used to scream screen peek at each other during Halo tourneys, halo doesn't compare to cod or goldeneye but the principle is the same.

so much rage when people would peek

screen peak became second nature to me playing Goldeneye, I taught myself to just stare at the center of the screen and perform all actions aside from sniping from my peripherals.

I couldn't not screen peak if I tried.

Hah we must have grown up in the same era, I actually remember playing Pong as a child.

I remember my commodore 63 - 30+ games per floppy, 100's of floppy's - I didn't own a home console system til Super Nintendo was on it's way out and I bought it dirt cheap to play FF games. My buddies had the Colecovision - Smurfs FTW!

I'd have to say that the PSX would be up there as one of favorites though - so many hours spent with roommates and friends over playing Tekken, Soulblade and Toshinden, the Resident Evil games, Twisted Metal, the FF series and so much more. I still have a PSX emulator on my PC and recently downloaded one on to my Nexus 7.

Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fight
F-Zero

Legend of Dragoon
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Strider
Sunset Riders
Super Mario 64
Super Mario Kart

I remember my commodore 63 - 30+ games per floppy, 100's of floppy'sI'm with you guys. Atari 2600 for many years... then a C64 (C128 in C64 mode when the first burnt out). Sooooooo many floppies.... I still have that Commodore stuff stored away in my basement and still considering converting some of the programs/games I wrote to be used by an emulator. Think I have my first modem (300 baud) around too.
