Friends are nec/mnk, have a 27 shm atm, but thinking of trying a bard. Could a bard bring anywhere near as much to the table for this trio in dungeons as a shm would? Like maybe charming for dps/ hp and mana regen, monk buffs/haste? What about in pvp? Thanks for any info!

bard imo is better, can get your group around quicker plus you add decent buffs/mana regain. Charm sucks on a bard but our CC ability is decent, we can hold down 4 mobs or more at a time.

shamans can slow better than bards, consistent buffs. no mana regain but lots of hp regain, extra healer.

In your situation a healer might be best.

both shaman and bard are good at pvp, shamans can solo in dungeons better than bards.

monk/shaman is one of the best duo combinations in the game

Thanks for the replies guys, sounds like I should stick with the shaman! Mnk/shm is OP because of high dps/mitigation/pulling along with haste/buffs/debuffs/heals is pretty Op I guess. :)

Part of your problem is that at 27 a shaman is pretty weak. By 50 you'll feel much stronger, especially once you get the epic.

Qalu try to add an Ogre SK to that group, and you will be unstoppable. Monk/shaman is op, But SK/shaman is immortal.

SK would just ruin the exp more

the only thing an SK could do better than a monk on this server is hold aggro
