Question about Research

Currently leveling up an enchanter with a necro friend. We were hoping to only need one of us to level up the Research skill to provide us with both spells. First, is it possible for one person to do research on another classes spells, if so, do you just have to buy a research book for each corresponding class? Or is Research limited to being able to make only the spells your class can use?

Research is class specific as each class uses a different 'box' to combine their class specific components. As a wizard I use a lexicon and can only combine runes. Also some of your spells may end up coming from quests in which the objects you combine and the results of said combine might be no drop.

Yup, sadly it's basically 4 separate research paths and you can't choose anything other than your own.
