As one who would LOVE to "Jay & Silent Bob" trolls IRL, I love this idea.

I have always loved Blizzards bold stances on the shitballs of MMO's. Sploiters, Farmers, and now Trolls.

Very bold move blizzard.

They better make it any new posts or there will be some murders, lol

Would love to see how many hard core trolls turn in the little pussballs they are IRL.

It's a great to kill the trolling but the use of the first and last name is a bit excessive. I've generally found it pretty easy to ignore a troll and go along my way. Most of the time, I have better things to do. On the other hand, I have a general feeling that some trolls have a good amount of time to spend. Do I want my name posted all forum? If my name was common as hell I would care less. If my name is unique.... no way.

The example at the end of the article is golden. I did a similar test with one of my buddies who I have known from WOW. His name is fairly unique and I just ran with that on Google. Within a few minutes I had a few past addresses, parents names and a few other small things. I even made an effort to NOT use the extra help from a social networking site. Regardless, its a pretty interesting move considering battle.net accounts are targeted pretty heavy by scams already.

Blizzard needs to man up, hire more community managers and adopt a rational zero-tolerance approach to flaming/baiting/trolling.

Tempers flare. That's fine.

When certain accounts make a habit of being a wanker, it's time to go... permanently.

You create a healthy, happy community by excising cancerous members. They're obvious to any moderation team that's working as a cohesive unit.
