Serverwide DDoS Rez Relief Efforts

Hello fellow p199ers,

Due to the recent DDoS attacks, I am sure many of us have died in less than ideal situations. I am sure the GMs would love to rez each and every one of us, but let's face it they can't be everywhere at once.

As such, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining the DDoS Resurrection Action Team, or DRAT. Essentially, I am looking for porters, rezzers, and maybe a few people to drag corpses. For my part, I can fill any role however my rez is only a 90% (still not bad folks).

So, if anyone is up for a little public service (11:32 EST Currently) just post below and maybe we can get something together.

EDIT : The best way to get a rez, or to help out, is to post in this thread. If I am online (Aristulian), /tell me if you need a rez and I can work dispatch for you and try to get a van out there. Over 175 people served, thanks to everyone who's been helping out or just offering a few words of encouragement.

We're still going, by my estimates we must have gotten at least 40 people by now. We've gotten rezzes to people from Permafrost to Unrest, so if anyone needs a rez or wants to help in the relief efforts, /tell "Aristulian" in game now.

I feel worse for rogues than I do for my own class. Track fucking blows goats now, but... Rogues lose something they are clearly chosen for. Not cool :(

My in game name is "Sandows" Human SK. I have had three DDOS deaths in HHK over the past week. I think my last corpse is still rezzable, i'll be on around 6:00 Central time tonight in the HHK area, could certainly use a REZ in HHK. I should be close to lvl 35 right now, but Instead am 1 yellow bub into 34 after 3 DDOS deaths. Frustrated doesn't really begin to describe how I am feeling...a rez would be greatly appreciated!!! :-)

Its kind of funny because back when I played on Tallon Zek my highest lvl character was a 40 sk. When it came time to head off to college I quit playing the game, when I found P1999 I told myself "I am going to level a SK to 50, period!" ....it's almost as if fate does not want me to ever get past lvl 40. I know at 34 I am a ways off still, but with all the lags deaths piling on I am feeling like I'll never reach my goal :-(

What I really need right now is a Jade Prod, I have the fang but I can't get into HS to rez anyone without a prod.

Also if anyone knows the Hunter/Forager cycle and can help me get a SEB key that would be legit too.

Big shout out to all the clerics who are part of this, and in particular Craby in OT, and Jutebox and Salvette who ported to OT especially to rez one of my corpses after two really frustrating DDoS deaths during a post-hell level. I've never played a cleric in EQ, but now I'm considering an alt just because you guys have been so awesome, and it's so appreciated.

I have found a way for everyone to contribute. We need plat for jade inlaid coffins. People just don't know where they died, or died someplace they can't get to.

So if anyone who can't port / rez wants to help out IMHO that is the best way. /tell Aristulian if you see me around if you want to help out.

There are expensive solutions I'm sure they are looking into. Datacenters often provide some protection from this for a fee but it sounds like their current one no longer does. It won't go on indefinitely unless someone is making money cause it costs $$$ to ddos.

Hey guys, I died over a week ago to the lag. Unfortunately my corpse rotted while the server was down.

Happily the GMs have restored my corpse, giving it another 7 days of rot time and moved it to the EC tunnel. Even better, the rez timer survived the restoration!

Will any clerics be on in EC in the near future that could provide a rez? I asked in OOC earlier today and was told I'm a liar :(

Edit: I can be back on within half an hour of the above post time or just over 15 hours (after I finish my working shifts today).
