So during August for a few weeks ill be forced to be gaming on a hotspot for 15 days and I only have a 5GB plan. If I played a few hours of p99 a month how fast do you think id max out 5 gigs? Any info would be appreciated

Everquest was meant for dial-up, should take you a while to burn through that 5GB if you are only transferring Everquest data packets and not wasting it on pr0n or Vent.

You could play quite a bit in those 15 days and probably not even come close.

Yeah you should be fine. i doubt you would even go over 1gb of usage unless there was a big patch to download(is that even possible for p99? :))

I play pretty regularly using my hotspot with my laptop (~75% of the time), and my data usage is at around 500-600mb. You should be safe.

I have a data tracker on my phone and I have bluetoothed my phone's internet to my comp when I had none on a trip. Played for almost 4 hours and used maybe 100mb. You will be fine.

I played on my phone's hotspot the other night. I'd just recommend to not quad kite on it. My spells seemed delayed by just a second.

Depending on your carrier (Verizon is mine) you can set a data usage alter in case you start creeping up on your limit.

From hot-spot experience... You should be totally fine. It will also be fast enough to be lag-free. Aside from when you receive a call or text... Text lagged me, calls LD me.

It's not bad. Just be careful of web browsing while alt-tabbed as this can use a lot of data. There is a slight lag when doing spell casting etc, but it's not too bad on 4G where I am. I will say though, I think you need to be careful about doing anything in Trakanon's Teeth when on a hotspot. That zone can cause problems if you're not on a great comp or connection.

As of about an hour ago I can totally confirm this.

I play exclusively on a tethered phone at 3g not even full bars all I can get in my area. Anyway for a month using my phone for everquest and looking at forums + youtube and some other shit I have never come close to 5gig I think the most I've ever used is just over 2gigs. That being said I'm positive you will be fine.

Depends on how many ways they can figure out to make Rangers suck even more in the next month.

I tether from a Verizon Mifi hotspot with 4G LTE. I only have 1 bar of service where I am at and I never seem to lag while quadding or grouping on my wizard. I actually have cable internet and I prefer to use the mifi because it keeps a more stable connection.

Stop paying for hotspot. Shell out 6bucks a month and get a VPN. Go DL free wifi app from playstore (apple has similar app) and fire up the VPN. Phone company won't know for sure what your up to and as an added bonus neither will the NSA. You can DL 100 gigs a day if you want, just make sure your phone data is unlimited.

I currently play on a 3g mobile broadband card for my laptop. I usually only use about 50 - 100 mb/ data per 4+ hour session.

I have a 8gb plan and play for a few hours nearly every night and never have an issue

Also I get no log, I raid and do AE groups fine on my phone, always around 130ms. iPhone 5, Verizon, tethered

I find that I have to switch to low quality YouTube on 3G or it eats my data plan fairly quickly.
