Chromos(enchanter) and Heres(shaman) here we staretd playing EQ live back in 1999 as teenagers and now are back about a month in to P99 blue server and are having an absolute blast!!!! We currently are 23/21 respectively, its awesome to see a community once again and EC tunnel full!

Personally I've found that HP/AC rings are one of the best things to make life bearable as a new character...for any class. I've made a habit of buying the rings whenever I can get them cheap and passing them along. Maybe a JC can help provide them at cost?

'Cost' is a relative term -- Fire opals are 550gp from a nice lady in Sol Ro temple - to get them in bulk typically involves a port to lavastorm and fully-encumbered jboot walk to solro and then turning in 550gp at a time.

If you considered a platinum bar + fire opal (at 55pp cost - which is debatable) at 5% failure rate (max JC) your cost per ring is about 170.

I usually sell them for 250p a pop considering the hassle and the fact that I like to make money on jewelcraft.

I joined a few weeks ago and started up a Erudite Shadowknight named Obsidia. Been great so far and met some cool people. My biggest challenge has been the lack of strength and finding decent armor to wear.

Didn't exactly pick the easiest class/race combo to start off with. I hope it will be a rewarding experience.

Get the enchanter CHA gear, don't bother spending plat on the other characters. Around L20-25, go to Najena and get the pieces for the mage's focus items (or divert minimal funds to that). Then you three are set until planar.

I grinded sharks for skins for 2 or 3 days in Erudin to get enough plat to buy an Advisors robe, Stein of Mag, and Black Tome With Silver Runes. Otherwise I'm rockin' all cloth, and no jewelery. Yeah, you'd be looking to get the Magicians and Goblin Magicians in Najena (http://wiki.project1999.org/Najena) to get:

Broom (http://wiki.project1999.org/Broom)
Shovel (http://wiki.project1999.org/Shovel)
Stein (http://wiki.project1999.org/Stein)
Torch (http://wiki.project1999.org/Torch)

Those items are used in the mage focus item quests (http://wiki.project1999.org/Magician#Magician_Focus_Items). You can also find people selling the quest items in EC, but expect to pay 100-300pp each.

That would be awesome! I have an infatuation with the Tentacle whip... I always wanted one on my original SK and never got one... then when I rolled more chars they were always casters so I never had my chance to try one out haha.

My IGN is Battlecry but my char is in Nektulos Forest :( Haven't had a chance to get out of there yet.

Hey Folks,

Just starting up P1999 all by my lonesome--friends refuse to play as they all had WoW as their first MMO and are not "hardcore" enough.

Planning on working on leveling a shaman by the name of Ranakror, as I've always wanted to be able to SoW and be supportive (back on live I had a cleric, so healing is great!)

Any assistance or especially camaraderie is most appreciated!
